Feeling Better..(a little)

I took these pictures of Cassidy over the weekend. The 1st & 2nd picture are faces I got when I asked her to smile. Picture 1 tells me, she is definitely my daughter (she must've seen me make that face) and pic 2 is what she thinks a real smile looks like (not bad except for the squinty eyes) The last picture was taken Friday night, when she was still running a fever. All she wanted was her chair and her blanket. She did go back to daycare today but has not stopped coughing since she went to bed 1 & 1\2 hour ago. I am going now in hopes of getting a little sleep before she wakes up screaming.

You'll Never Guess.....

Ok, so maybe you will. Cassidy is sick again. Shocking, I know. We went out to dinner to celebrate cousin Brendan's good grade on his Sitting Bull report and she was fussy as can be. We ended up leaving half way through the meal and when we got home her temp was 100.5 and she was really warm. She was glad to be home, though, she played with her toys before going to bed and seemed to be a little happier. However, she woke up this morning with a temp of 101.1, so we stayed home again. As I am typing this I can hear her coughing in her sleep and am unsure what lies ahead. Part of me thought her runny nose may be attributed to those teeth still coming in, but now I am not so sure. They say the average "day care baby" gets 10-12 colds a year. This would have to be #2, so only 8-10 more to go. Thankfully I have been at my job 7 & 1\2 years so I have 5 weeks of time off. I think I have used 2 weeks since Christmas. I hope to have some left for the nice weather!!!!!!

Here are some pics of Cassidy. Look at how curly her hair is, only after a tub and until naptime, then it goes back to being flat. While she was sick (the first time) she spent alot of time laying around watching DORA. And lastly, at least she was well enough to perform her rendition of "the itsy bitsy spider", yes, that is "down came the rain"!!!

Sleepless in Worcester

Ok, after I posted Thursday and thought she was feeling better, Cassidy awoke at 11:15pm and vomited again. I really thought we were home free. I had planned on sending her to daycare Friday, but instead had to take another day off to stay home with her. I think we have had only 1 full nights sleep in the last 14 days. As if that wasn't enough...........
Last night was one of the worst nights in a long time. I know that Cass is feeling a little better, but I am afraid too much sickness=too much letting her do what she wants=loss of control. When she woke us up crying at 12:50am I jumped up because I thought she might vomit again. Thankfully, she did not. Instead she kept us up until 4:15am. I put her in her crib on 3 separate occasions where she would stay quiet for about 10 minutes and then start crying. Diaper change, juice, Tylenol and laying in our bed all bought a little time. There was NO way I was putting DORA on tv at that ungodly hour. Turns out she did not want Dora, she simply was hungry. At 3:50am she signed "eat", so we had pancakes. No longer than 7 minutes after her last pancake, she was dead asleep (and we were dead on our feet). I am angry at myself for not thinking she may have been hungry, after all she hasn't eaten very much in the past 4 days. Hopefully, Monday will restart our schedule, back to daycare, back to work and back to feeling better.

Sick, Sick and More Sick

OK, I know I promised more pictures yeseterday, but I was busy. Busy getting vomited on, that is!!! Poor Cassidy has had 3 awful ailments back-to-back-to-back. She does feel much better today, probably in the 75% area. It must have been the 24 hour stomach bug. I often thought about the day I would see my child's vomit, and I took it much better than I ever thought I would. All of these pictures have been taken over her 10 day illness. As you can see no cough & congestion\double ear infection\stomach virus is going to keep her from being adorable. Just look at those pjs, and those sunglasses---just too cute. More pictures when she is feeling better, I promise.


 

Christmas

Ok, so I am a little behind with my posts. I apologize for that, but thankfully there are people out there who are not afraid to tell me!!!! We had a great Christmas, Cassidy was aware of what was going on and loved opening presents. She got lots of new clothes and many new toys. Her favorites so far are a baby stroller and a ride on Dora the Explorer car. Cassidy actually signed "more" after she opened 5 presents Christmas morning. Good thing she was such a good girl, Santa brought her plenty!!
We had nice visit with Bob's sister, Wendy & her family. They had not seen Cassidy yet and we were able to see them twice while they were in the state. We are probably going to go down to see them in April.
Cassidy has a double ear infection now and just starting to get back to normal. Last week she had a horrible cough and we all enjoyed 4 sleepless nights. She is sleeping through the night again and she actually enjoys taking her medicine!!! I will post more pictures later today, so be sure to check back in the afternoon.
